WHAT IS INTELLIGENT POWER?
Intelligent Power (IP) managed solutions provide systems and network administrators in organisations large or small the ability to monitor and control power distribution in an enclosure, or multiple enclosures, from a remote location.
Constructed in the same format as any other standard power strip IP provides accurate and detailed information of power usage right down to socket level. As well as monitoring IP has the optional ability to remotely power on and off individual pieces of equipment without the need to attend site. In addition to providing information, alert parameters can be set to advise of possible equipment issues or the breaching of set limits.
It is not only power, IP can also provide information and control on both environmental and security aspects such as temperature and humidity and door access control.
The information provided by IP solutions can then be used by administrators and management to develop an IT strategy to optimise equipment and space with the objective of reducing power consumption. This would result in achieving governmental and general business objectives and ultimately reducing operating costs.
An additional benefit when power draw parameters are set is that IP can be used as the first line of defence against potential equipment failure or when multiple users exceeding set limits.
Information that is monitored by the IP, along with the associated alerts, is shown locally on a RGB display and can be accessed remotely via the inbuilt HTML web browser or by the free issued SNMP software. When running the SNMP application logging of alerts and graphical information is available for down load via CFC files.
While all the above is included as part of the basic solution there is available more complex Data Centre Managements (DCM) solution offering asset management and more detailed graphical and statistical information.
All products are manufactured to the highest standards and approvals and all IPower units come with our 5 year return to base warranty.
